To set up Mirc to connect to #herpchat, you must do several things.First, download Mirc from www.mirc.com and install it. I actually recommend d/l an older version of Mirc, such as v. 5.91. This is much easier to use than the latest version and will work without registration.
Second, start Mirc.
Third, go to file, options, connect. Here you will want to do a couple things.
A. click on the ADD button. This will bring up another screen. the DESCRIPTION can be whatever you want, such as mychat or herpchat. The SERVER is irc.rizon.net. Nothing else needs to be entered here, so click ADD.
B. Where it says NICKNAME, type in your registered nickname. If you have a second nickname registered, put that in the ALTERNATE space.
Now click OK.Next, go to IRC on the menu, double click it to open the submenu and click on PERFORM. In this screen you will do a couple things.
First check the box at the top for "on connection perform these commands"
Second, in the white space add the following lines, one command per line.
first line: /ns identify yourpassoword (this is the password for your regestered nickname)
second line: /join #herpchat
If you want to automatically join more than one room, add the /join #roomname for each room, one per line. Now you are ready to connect to Mirc and #herpchat. just click on the lightning bolts on the left side of the menu bar and you are on your way.
Fine tuning of Mirc can be done at your liesure, such as changing the colors of text and background.
